Massive Black's WorkshopSF 2012 Announced!

The 2011 one was utterly fantastic. Artists interested in fine art or entertainment art or anything in between should attend!

My friend Kyle made his profile picture a portrait I drew him 3 years ago! I forced him to sit for me and drew him a much better one. I thought it would be interesting to see them side-by-side. IMPROVEMENT! Yay.

Sculpted one of the monster heads from the previous post. Onto painting!

My sketches from yesterday while hanging out with the fantastic Megan! Sorry for the horrible scans… My parents somehow have maintained my very first scanner and it still works, haha.

I gave my sketchbook to this sweet little girl, only because she kept referring my yellow-green pencil as “mint”!

Hey guys! My apologies for the lack of art, there’s a lot of external distractions going on at the moment.
I hope this makes up for the void! I found a skull while hiking a few weeks back and started to clean it today. It still has a ways to go before it’s finished and I can’t wait to draw it once it is! :D
I think it’s a bobcat or mountain lion skull, but there’s a chance I could be wrong.

I gave my first ever commencement speech to the graduating class of 2012 at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.

I think I told them everything important that I knew about going out into the world and being an artist, so I may never need to give another one.

Yes. Yes to all of this.

I believe I have never heard anything more perfect before this. If you create, you must listen.

What in the world was I thinking when I created this. I can’t wait to paint it, at least!

Things that hide in the dark.

The hibiscus trolls! An armless troll that likes to sit at the top of hibiscus bushes because they love how much the sun feels on their petals and especially love spending time with their young ones. The youth’s petals won’t be fully developed until adulthood.
It’s a gift for my mother. :)
